Marinara Sauce
Ingredients
- 1pound canned whole tomatoescrushed or lightly puréed
- 1/4cup extra-virgin olive oil
- 7cloves garlicpeeled and sliced
- 1pinch crushed red pepper flakes
- 1teaspoon coarse salt
- 1sprig basil

Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the oil.
- When it is hot, add garlic.
- As soon as garlic is sizzling (do not let it brown), add the tomatoes.
- Add red pepper flakes and salt.
- Add basil sprig and simmer sauce until thickened and oil on surface is a deep orange, about 15 minutes.
- Discard basil.
