Ingredients
  • 1cup sugar
  • 1tablespoon corn syrup
  • 1/4cup water
  • 1/2cup creamwarmed
  • 2tablespoons buttersoftened
  • 1teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • coarse salt

Instructions
  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, whisk together sugar, corn syrup, and water until sugar is completely dissolved.
  2. Stop whisking and allow sugar to boil until it turns a dark amber color.
  3. Remove from heat and slowly stir in heavy cream.
  4. Stir in butter.
  5. Let cool for 3 minutes, then stir in vanilla.
  6. Season to taste with salt.
  7. Use immediately or transfer to an airtight container and store in refrigerator for up to a month, reheating before use.
