BBQ Sauce
Ingredients
- 2teaspoons vegetable oil
- 2tablespoons onionsminced
- 1cup chicken stock
- 1/2cup root beer
- 1/2cup cider vinegar
- 1/2cup dark corn syrup
- 1/4cup molasses
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2tablespoons tomato paste
- 3/4cup ketchup
- 1/4cup brown mustard
- 1tablespoon hot sauce
- 1teaspoon garlic powder
- 2tablespoons liquid smoke

- Heat oil in saucepan over medium-high heat until shimmering. Add onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Whisk in remaining ingredients, except for liquid smoke, and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat to medium and simmer until mixture is thick and has reduced to 2cups, about 1 hour. Stir in liquid smoke and serve. (Sauce can be refrigerated in airtight container for up to 1 week.) NOTE: If sauce is too thin you may add a cornstarch slurry to thicken.
