Industry Standards: Personal Hygiene
- Shower or bathe daily.
- Keep hair washed, combed, and covered as required.
- Wear clean, pressed and complete uniform as required.
- Do not wear nail polish or artificial fingernails.
- Except for a plain wedding band, do not wear jewelry.
- Keep hands and fingernails trimmed and clean.
- Handle food only as required and always with clean or gloved hands.
- Do not allow dirty utensils or equipment to touch food.
- Eat only in designated areas.
- Bandage all cuts and sores, wear gloves over injured hands.
- Do not cough, spit, or sneeze near food or in food preparation areas. Always cover your mouth with your arm when coughing and sneeze into tissue. Wash hands immediately after coughing or using a tissue.
- Notify your instructor and stay home when experiencing vomiting, diarrhea, jaundice, or a sore throat and fever.
