Ingredients
- 2 cups basmati rice, washed & drained
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 1 serrano, split in half
- 1 cup coriander leaves
- ½ cup mint leaves
- 1 teaspoon garlic, finely minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, finely minced
- 2 each bay leaf
- 1 stick cinnamon
- 5 each cloves
- 4 each cardamom
- ½ teaspoon wild cumin (shah Jeera)
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 3 ½ cups water
- 2 tablespoons salt
Method:
- Fry the onions till golden brown add the serrano, cloves, cinnamon, cardamom, bay leaves, mint leaves, ginger/garlic paste and fry on low heat till the raw smell goes.
- Add rice and fry for few minutes, add the salt to taste and water and bring to boil, then lower flame cover and cook for 8-10 minutes till rice is done.
- If using a rice cooker, add rice in the bucket, add the fried ingredients to the rice in cooker bucket and cook the rice.
