Beer Batter

Beer Batter

Yield: 1 quart

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups flour, AP
  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • 3 tablespoons salt, coarse
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 12 ounces beer
  • ¼ cup soda water

Directions:

  1. Just prior to frying, mix the dry ingredients together, then slowly whisk in beer and soda water to the consistency of pancake batter.
