Serves 4
Ingredients
- 1 cup long-grain white rice, like Jasmine
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 cups water
- 1 teaspoon salt, coarse
Method:
- Rinse under running water until water runs clear, about 1 minute.
- Drain rice well.
- Melt butter in large saucepan over medium heat.
- Add rice and cook, stirring frequently, until edges begin to turn translucent, about 2 minutes.
- Add water and salt and bring to boil.
- Cover tightly with aluminum foil, reduce heat to low, and simmer until liquid is absorbed and rice is tender, about 16-18 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let stand covered for 10 minutes.
- Fluff with fork.
- Serve.
