Eating and Drinking Policies

  • No food may be removed from the premises without the permission of the Dean.
  • Any food produced and consumed by students is for evaluative purposes only as required by that course’s objectives.
  • “Tasting” foods, during the course of food preparation is a necessary part of the evaluative process and must be performed within sanitary guidelines, i.e., use of tasting spoons, etc.
  • Water is the only beverage allowed in the lab and breakout area. Water containers must be covered and kept in the breakout area or under each workstation.
  • Food, snacks and other beverages purchased through the Student Bistro or vending machines are for consumption outside of the kitchen laboratories.
  • Chewing of gum is NOT allowed in the lab.
